June 23, 2008  For Immediate Release:

East Coast Biker Chicks New Chapters Forming

East Coast Biker Chicks Motorcycle Club and its originating founder Cookie Belcamino are proud to announce that a Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter and a Rhode Island Chapter are now forming.

East Coast Biker Chicks is an all female Motorcycle Club in Boston, Massachusetts with over 150 members and additional chapters throughout the East Coast. The club is open to all females over the age of 21 and is not prejudiced to make or model of bike.  The originating chapter founder, Cookie Belcamino has been riding for 25 years and currently rides a 2002 Harley Davidson FXDL Custom. Cookie’s brainstorm was initiated after friends coerced her into organizing a female club after riding with another local club in some parade events. Ms. Belcamino recalls, “There were about eight of us close friends who rode all the time together and I thought that was enough to start a little ‘gang’, so East Coast Biker Chicks was hatched. I spent hour upon hour with a $20.00 piece of software called WEBEASY trying to build a website. I also visited some local radio stations and print media to help get the word out. It took off in leaps and bounds and in our first year had over 36 members.”

Since the commencement in 2003 in Boston, MA an additional chapter was formed in Maine, and now Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. Cookie is excited by the growing interest and stated… “Our growth is overwhelming to me knowing that five years ago this was just a thought and it has now flourished into a vast diversity of women who share the same passion as I do. I am so proud to have brought together such a great network of ladies who want to feel the independence associated with the desire to ‘ride their own’.”  The new NEPA Chapter will be run by Pat Gallacher, a Scranton native and current resident. Pat works for a local Physician’s group as the IT Director and previously held the post of President/Chairman of the Greater Scranton Junior Chamber of Commerce. Pat has been riding for five years and got her license through the Local Motorcycle Safety Foundation class. Pat currently rides a 2005 Honda VTX 1300 and has already accumulated over 22k riding miles.

East Coast Biker Chicks is committed to aiding in the fight to find a cure for Breast Cancer and have supported numerous charity and fund raising events to help support that cause. One member stated, “I think it’s a great way to meet other women who share the passion of riding and also want to make new friends along the way”.
